Emily MacLeish, DVM hails from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She started her professional life as a teacher in Ohio before she realized her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She started her time with Animal Advocate Pet Hospital as an extern learning from our Medical Director, Dr. Clay-Smith. She impressed us so much we offered her a role and she accepted after graduation!

Dr. MacLeish is an amazing medical doctor and loves behavior and dermatology. We appreciate her teaching style of education where her clients feel understood and knowledgeable about the next steps for their pet. You are in good hands when you see Dr. MacLeish!

Stefanie Clay-Smith, DVM, is our Medical Director at Animal Advocate Pet Hospital. She graduated from Tuskegee University in 2010 and quickly returned to her home town of Chicago. She specializes in client communication, puppy as well as senior care, dentistry, and evidence based medicine.
